| Reliable VPN for UK & US TV Streaming to HK

Trouble Shooting:

A. After connected to VPN, still seeing message "...TV Programmes are available to play in the UK/US only ..."
It was caused by the Cookie/Cache saved in your web browser's history, follow the steps below to clear them.
Here we use Firefox and Safari as examples:

Firefox:
1. Open Firefox, select "Firefox" in the top menu, select "Options > Options"
2. Select "Privacy" tab, click "Clear all current history"
3. Choose "Everything", then click "Clear Now" to clear all cookies/cache saved previously
4. Close All browser windows of Firefox, disconnect VPN. Then reconnect VPN, open Firefox and visit:
BBC iPlayer: http://bbc.co.uk/iplayer/tv or Hulu: http://www.hulu.com/
 
5. (Best Practice) Dedicate Firefox with below setting for TV viewing with VPN
while use other browsers (e.g. Chrome or Internet Explorer) for other web activities.
Under "Privacy" tab, select "Do not tell sites anything about my tracking preferences"
& choose Firefox will "Never remember history", then "OK"
 
Older version of Firefox:
1. Open Firefox, select "Tools" in the top menu, click "Clear Recent History"
or some Firefox versions have it as "History" > "Clear Recent History"
2. Under Time range to clear, select "Everything"
3. Select "Cookies" and "Cache"
4. Click "Clear Now"

5. Close All browser windows of Firefox, disconnect VPN. Then reconnect VPN, open Firefox and visit:

Safari:
1. Open the Safari menu and select "Preferences", click "Security". At the bottom, click "Show Cookies"
2. . In the new window, click "Remove All" then "Done"

Or some Firefox versions have [Remove All Website Data] under "Privacy"

3. Close All browser windows of Safari, disconnect VPN. Then reconnect VPN, open Safari and visit:

Google Chrome:
1. Click the Tools menu (the wrench in the upper right corner)
2. Select [Settings]
3. At the bottom of the Settings page, click [Show advanced settings ...]
4. Under "Privacy", click [Clear browsing data]
5. Select [the beginning of time] and tick [Cookie and other site and plug-in data] & [Cached images and files]
6. Click [Clear browsing data] to confirm.
7. Close All browser windows of Chrome, disconnect VPN. Then reconnect VPN, open Chrome and visit:

Internet Explorer:
1. Click the "Gear" icon at the upper right to open the Tools menu
2. Select [Safety > Delete Browsing History]
3. Select [Temporary Internet Files] and uncheck ALL other boxes (including the Preserve Favorites website data)
4. Click [Delete] and give it a bit time to finish deleting
5. Close All browser windows of IE, disconnect VPN. Then reconnect VPN, open IE and visit:

B. Video box freezes or crashes / Buffering
1. Update your Flash Player and Firefox Browser to the latest version. Most cases were caused by old versions.
Update Flash Player at: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Update/get latest Firefox Browser at: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/

2. After connected to VPN, make a Speed Test at BBC Diagnostics:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/diagnostics
Most users can have average bandwidth more than 1200kbps. User with good internet connection and settings can reach 2100kbps.The minimium requirement for reliable TV streaming is 800kbps.
